blankey!
Received Olivia's custom made baby blanket today and it is absolutely fabulous! the fabric is super soft, and its so girly and modern and i think it's something she'll be able to hold on to for years and years to come!!!! Arthur loved it so much, he asked me to order another one. I didn't expect that from him at all since he keeps telling me to stop buying stuff for her! hehe... so we placed another order for one tonight and it should be here in about 3-4 weeks! i am so darn excited.. here is the first one:

32 week update...
Had my 32 week big appointment today! Olivia is measuring in at 4 lbs 3 oz, and assuming i make it to my due date, the doctors are estimating her to be close to 8lbs at birth! pregnancy is progressing the way it should. I am only up 16 lbs for the entire pregnancy, no change in the past several months. I wonder how that is possible since Olivia is putting on the weight but i am not.. oh well, as long as she is healthy!

scary thought...
This weekend or possibly next (or perhaps even the one after that!) we will be doing a cast of my belly. I was skeptical about it at first but then it hit me.. what if this is going to be my only child? since i really wasnt too diligent about taking weekly belly pics, what better way to commemorate this amazing time in my life then to have a cast done? we already have our casting kit on hand, i am just debating whether i want to do it sooner rather then later. Among other things, i still have baby's laundry to do and fold and put away, a hospital bag to prepare, tour our hospital, find a pediatrician... it just seems quite overwhelming with only (possibly) 6 weeks to go until she's considered full term. I also will really truly miss being pregnant. It has been very easy and every day i am carrying her is a blessing. She is my miracle. The love of my life. Feeling her inside of me is nothing like i've or ever will experience. We bond. She's my little roo. i look forward to holding her in my arms finally, but it also saddens me that pregnancy, this long awaited event in my life, will soon be over. And if i never get pregnant again, it's just that more difficult to think about.

baby got showered...
My baby shower was this weekend, 9/11/11. an odd date to celebrate but it was amazing. I really had the best time. 24 people (myself included) attended, the food was fabulous, the conversations were interesting and it was just an all around good time. We had a few contests and prizes and i had an amazing cake! Olivia got showered with more gifts than i ever expected since majority of the items were sent to the house. We have our crib, changing table, swing, pack n' play, set up already. Olivia has more clothes than i can count (and make room for!) we went to babies r us after the shower to buy out our registry of the things we didnt receive... We got our sheets and bumpers, mattress, pacifiers, sheet savers, wipes, toys teethers and rattles, diaper genie, lotions and creams, and of course, the most important purchase was our glider which i am so excited to receive and have arthur put together! our "nursery" is jam packed with baby things and i cannot imagine unpacking everything and sorting through it all and putting everything in its final place once everything is washed. Needless to say, this little princess is already loved beyond words!

one lucky baby!
I am almost at my 30 week mark. holy moly.. where did the time go? i could potentially be holding my baby in 7 weeks time.. eep
on a side note, this little girl of mine is one lucky little lady! not only was mommy and daddy anxious to have her but it seems everyone around us cannot wait for this little peanut to make her appearance either. The amount of gifts we have been receiving (granted we registered for them!) are overwhelming and beautiful. I really thought we would have to make a lot of the big ticket purchases ourselves. well low and behold, 4 days until my baby shower and majority of the things we'll need are gone from the registry! The swing, crib, changing table, baby monitor, diaper bag and bouncer among others.... its so amazing to know how many people are willing to help out the new parents! All that is really left, as of now, are the two mattresses, one for the crib, one for the changing table, and the glider. and i think we are pretty much set except for a few odds and ends here and there. plus, the amount of clothes this little princess has is insane already. Juicy and Puma and other italian cotton brands among them with shoes and such.. its quite amazing to have a little girl on the way... the closet is full of pink and for the first time, my husband doesnt care! hehe... also, making its way to my home is a custom made wipes case to match our decor theme or brown and pink and our diaper bag with "Olivia Rose" embroidered on it as well as a custom made blanket and a pair of ugg type boots and a fleece/cotton hat for the cold winter months.. yep, we are ready for the arrival of our baby girl! COME ON NOVEMBER!

update...
I am almost at 28 weeks of my pregnancy, and time is most certainly flying by! only 12 weeks (maybe even 10!!) from holding my baby girl!
I failed my 3 hour glucose tolerance test and was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.. it's not a walk in the park but i am managing! I take my blood sugar daily and try to stick to healthy meals and fruits.. (i have a cheat day once in a while where i'll have some fries! and its amazing!) but other than that i am being pretty diligent about it...
We had our 3D/4D ultrasound at 25 weeks. Baby girl is looking beautiful... she is smiling and sleeping and poking and prodding and I am so completely in love with her! I hope these next few months fly by so i can hold her and kiss those chubby cheeks!!!
My baby shower is 2 weeks away, on September 11th, to be exact and i am getting anxious! Still lots to do.. Need to by center pieces and some more decorations as well as party favors for my guests... Arthur and I will get balloons day of and just bring them to the venue.. I AM SO EXCITED.... so many people have already bought us presents for Olivia, its amazing.. our storage space is diminishing but that is ay ok with me! I even made friends with my UPS delivery guy because he seems to have a delivery for me almost every day! LOVE IT!
There are still several necessities that we need to get like the crib, changing table, mattress and glider but i am keeping my fingers crossed that someone will purchase those for us! It's ok if they don't i just need to get a move on things... I need everything set up by middle/end of october so i can enjoy my last weeks of pregnancy...
Speaking of pregnancy... life's getting a little more difficult.. i could barely bend down, let alone see over my toes.. hehe.. my belly gets in the way of things and i even do not cook as often as i should since belly is in the way. Its difficult to sleep as well.. When i need to change positions and sides, i have to wake up and do so because the round ligament pain plus the weight of the belly makes it painful and difficult to maneuver... I feel like im 80 with all the kinks and pains and aches... but its just the awesomeness of pregnancy! (is it still weird that i think its surreal that i am PREGNANT!!?!?!?!??!!!!)
Come on NOVEMBER!! GET HERE ALREADY!!!

Glucose Tolerence Test... = FML!
Last week i had to take the one hour glucose tolerence test. The drink was fairly tolerable.. It was 50 grams of pure sugar and tasted like very sweet flat orange soda. I think the fact that it was cold made it a little better. Well anyway, i was able to keep that down and had my blood draw and hour later. Results came back monday and my sugar levels were high! norm was 140 i was at 197... eek!
that being said, i had to subject myself to a little more torture that is known as the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. I went in today and had to drink a very warm, lemon lime flavored 100 gram bottle of this crap! i kept it down for an hour and threw the rest up! that was by far the worst, most grossest thing i've ever experienced.
I am ofcourse nervous to hear the results as i really do not wish to have Gestational Diabetes and keep a strict diet but i know i'll have to for the health of my baby girl! i really hope i never have to do this crappy test again today marked the single worst day of my pregnancy!
on a happier note, i did manage to get a sympathy ultrasound out of them just so i can see my baby girl for putting up with the hell for 4 hours! well she looks absolutely perfect... Measuring right on schedule at 24 weeks.. weighing 1 lb 5oz.. hehe... she is head down and we figured out that all those kicks and flicks ive been feeling have been her legs and feet jabbing me! i am so in love with her already!
I have a 3D/4D ultrasound booked for this weekend as a birthday present from my dear husband so hopefully we get to see some awesome pictures of my baby! cheeks and all!! i am so excited!!!
