20 week update!

so this is it... i made it to the halfway point in my pregnancy! *shrieks* i am so thrilled that im only several months away from holding my daughter!!

todays appointment was awesome.. the ultrasound tech spent about 40-45 minutes with us. she checked every inch of my baby. Spine, bladder, kidneys, heart, brain, toes, fingers, nose, lips, ears, eyes etc... everything is exactly where it should be... my daughter was doing all sorts of maneuvers, first she was upside down, then transverse,  then backwards and all sorts of ways... quite awesome to see her shuffling around in there. shes about 11 oz and measures 18cm crown to rump, so from head to toe, about 25/26 cm. big baby! :) i am so excited and so in love with her!

just a random thought....

for the past 2 years throughout this entire trying to conceive journey, i swore 2011 would be my year! thankfully, by some magic turn of events, it is! 2011 is my year! this year i will be holding my precious baby girl in my hands!

aside from that,  2011 brings on more significant dates... my 3 year wedding anniversary and my 25th birthday is this year as well. holy hell!

obviously nothing is more important than having my daughter in my arms!!! come on november!!! come on!

the stuff many pregnant women dont tell you.....

Saturday, I hit my 16th week! holy moly does time fly... thus far, i cannot say i've had a horrible experience being pregnant as i know many women do. First trimester is usually brutal and many say the energy picks up right around second trimester... well i am still waiting on that.. granted, im only a few weeks into my second trimester, but still..

now, what i truly feel like complaining about, since i really have had nothing to complain about this far in is Round Ligament Pain... no one tells you these things... or forgets to mention them anyway. Well, let me tell you, they are absolutely no fun. This, so far, has been the one down side of my pregnancy. (that and acne, but that i can deal with!) this however takes the cake. I am sure it is no where near as painful as labor will be but my goodness, i feel like a brittle old woman.

"Round ligament pain generally refers to a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that pregnant women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester.

You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.

You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit."

Like I said, not fun! this has been occuring for about a week and i am hoping this subsides soon! i hear from some it only gets worse! eek!
