39 week update

quick update.... Had my (almost) 39 week appt today.. I'm officially 39 weeks this saturday! I asked my Dr when is the earliest we can get this baby out. He said that 39 weeks is the earliest.. i reminded him that saturday is the day! He said saturday is not too convenient for him... so this is our plan. He said that we should come back on tuesday and he will do an internal and check how my cervix is.. if it is already effaced, then we can go ahead and induce. if it's hard as a rock, he'll send us home. He said to have sex and do lots of walking to get the cervix to ripen. I am crossing my fingers that when we go back Tuesday he'll give us the green light to induce. I was also informed that he is leaving on vacation the 23rd of november, which sucks because my official due date is the 19th and if nothing is progressing by tuesday, we'd be screwed and i'd have to deliver with his second in command, which i so do not want to do. Plus, if i am induced he said he will make sure i get my epi first, then my pitocin and then he'll break my water and promised a fairly easier labor then if i were to go on my own. This way i can be more relaxed. So please cross your fingers for me as i want to meet my daughter in 4/5 days! EEK! I am so darn excited at the possibility of tuesday/wednesday delivery! omg! :) send me some good ju ju!!

38 week appt.

so i am back from my 38 week appt. Liv is measuring beautifully. She is 7lbs give or take 10%. She has a full head of hair that was very clear on the ultrasound! mad me giggle... hehe.. on another note, they found some protein in my urine and my BP was slightly elevated. Dr told me to check my BP tomorrow. If its 140/90 or over, i call him and we go to the hospital to induce. he also gave a container for collecting urine throughout the day friday. I would have to come in saturday morning to drop it off, have a blood draw and check BP.. they'd get results back that afternoon, if he sees signs of Pre-Eclampsia, then we head to hospital this weekend to induce. If everything will look normal, we are waiting it out. I am a little excited at the possibility of meeting my little girl this weekend!!!! its scary but exciting!! obviously the circumstances wouldnt be the greatest but hey, I get to meet my baby girl. (maybe)... thats all for now folks :)

37 week appt.

today i had another NST done.. Olivia was super reactive... fluid levels are normal and no contractions. Dr says a few more weeks to go. the pelvic pain has increased tremendously! there unfortunately is nothing i can do about them, doctor assures me it will ease up once she is born. We were looking at all the baby pictures hanging in his office today, and the number of babies he has delivered is insane... he told us to find a place on his wall where we will place our picture! hehe... its so surreal that we are so so so close to holding our little girl. i am so ready and anxious!! back next week for more updates!

36 week appt

had my 36 week appointment today. Liv is measuring right on schedule and weighing in at 5 lbs 13 oz. Should be 6 lbs by the weekend! hehe... she is head down, spine is on the left side of my belly and her butt is above my naval with her legs and footsies on the right. the little bump that protrudes occasionally is her awesome little baby butt! i had my NST today, and Liv passed with flying colors. Doctor says there are no signs of labor any where close. So olivia will keep baking for a while longer. My amniotic fluid levels are fine but on the low side so i was advised to drink more fluids. We had an ultrasound as well to measure baby and everything looks great and on target and is progressing the way it should be. My mom swears that even her ultrasound looks like me, which makes me very happy. several weeks to go. i am getting so anxious to hold my little baby butt !!!

35 week appointment update

Today i had my (almost) 35 week appointment. I am actually 34 weeks and 5 days along, but am measuring at 36 weeks. (big baby!) I absolutely love my Dr. He is super smart and honest and witty and i am so grateful he'll be there with me through delivery.

I had my GBS test today (group B strep) where i had internal swabs done which was painless and quick. As of now, i have weekly appointments where i will have the NST done. (Non stress test) where the baby, contractions and myself will be monitored.  this will be done at every appointment and will check for baby's well being as well as her position, heart rate etc.. He said that he won't let me go over 41 weeks. but will try not to induce depending on how my cervix will be. He also said that he doesn't do episiotomies unless absolutely necessary (which made me feel a million times better!!!!!!!!) because i would prefer not to get one but he said he is very careful and neat and will be gentle with me.

I cannot believe this is almost over and i can potentially be holding my daughter in 2 short weeks! EEK!

I am ready to meet her, to hold her, smell her, touch her, kiss her..

push presents...

what a brilliant concept for the mom to be... i remember when my sister in law gave birth to my niece, the family got together and bought her a beautiful tennis bracelet. the idea of something similar was brought up to me and i quickly turned it down. how much jewelry does a girl need? i own quite a bit of it and since i rarely change it up there is just no point in wasting the money towards something like that.. i had something a little better in mind. i've always wanted a macbook pro. well, that is exactly what i received. granted i didn't push anything or anyone out yet, this little puppy is coming with me to the hospital for when i am in labor.  i am now a proud owner of a macbook... where has this been all of my life???

blankey!

Received Olivia's custom made baby blanket today and it is absolutely fabulous! the fabric is super soft, and its so girly and modern and i think it's something she'll be able to hold on to for years and years to come!!!! Arthur loved it so much, he asked me to order another one. I didn't expect that from him at all since he keeps telling me to stop buying stuff for her! hehe... so we placed another order for one tonight and it should be here in about 3-4 weeks! i am so darn excited.. here is the first one:

its a double sided Minky fabric blanket, one side is the baby pink, the other side is the black/white damask and the embroidery is beautiful! its 30x36... we are so in love with it!!!

32 week update...

Had my 32 week big appointment today! Olivia is measuring in at 4 lbs 3 oz, and assuming i make it to my due date, the doctors are estimating her to be close to 8lbs at birth! pregnancy is progressing the way it should. I am only up 16 lbs for the entire pregnancy, no change in the past several months. I wonder how that is possible since Olivia is putting on the weight but i am not.. oh well, as long as she is healthy!

scary thought...

This weekend or possibly next (or perhaps even the one after that!) we will be doing a cast of my belly. I was skeptical about it at first but then it hit me.. what if this is going to be my only child? since i really wasnt too diligent about taking weekly belly pics, what better way to commemorate this amazing time in my life then to have a cast done? we already have our casting kit on hand, i am just debating whether i want to do it sooner rather then later. Among other things, i still have baby's laundry to do and fold and put away, a hospital bag to prepare, tour our hospital, find a pediatrician... it just seems quite overwhelming with only  (possibly) 6 weeks to go until she's considered full term. I also will really truly miss being pregnant. It has been very easy and every day i am carrying her is a blessing. She is my miracle. The love of my life. Feeling her inside of me is nothing like i've or ever will experience. We bond. She's my little roo. i look forward to holding her in my arms finally, but it also saddens me that pregnancy, this long awaited event in my life, will soon be over. And if i never get pregnant again, it's just that more difficult to think about.

baby got showered...

My baby shower was this weekend, 9/11/11. an odd date to celebrate but it was amazing. I really had the best time. 24 people (myself included) attended, the food was fabulous, the conversations were interesting and it was just an all around good time. We had a few contests and prizes and i had an amazing cake! Olivia got showered with more gifts than i ever expected since majority of the items were sent to the house. We have our crib, changing table, swing, pack n' play, set up already. Olivia has more clothes than i can count (and make room for!) we went to babies r us after the shower to buy out our registry of the things we didnt receive... We got our sheets and bumpers, mattress, pacifiers, sheet savers, wipes, toys teethers and rattles, diaper genie, lotions and creams, and of course, the most important purchase was our glider which i am so excited to receive and have arthur put together! our "nursery" is jam packed with baby things and i cannot imagine unpacking everything and sorting through it all and putting everything in its final place once everything is washed. Needless to say, this little princess is already loved beyond words!

one lucky baby!

I am almost at my 30 week mark. holy moly.. where did the time go? i could potentially be holding my baby in 7 weeks time.. eep
on a side note, this little girl of mine is one lucky little lady! not only was mommy and daddy anxious to have her but it seems everyone around us cannot wait for this little peanut to make her appearance either. The amount of gifts we have been receiving (granted we registered for them!) are overwhelming and beautiful. I really thought we would have to make a lot of the big ticket purchases ourselves. well low and behold, 4 days until my baby shower and majority of the things we'll need are gone from the registry! The swing, crib, changing table, baby monitor, diaper bag and bouncer among others.... its so amazing to know how many people are willing to help out the new parents! All that is really left, as of now, are the two mattresses, one for the crib, one for the changing table, and the glider. and i think we are pretty  much set except for a few odds and ends here and there. plus, the amount of clothes this little princess has is insane already. Juicy and Puma and other italian cotton brands among them with shoes and such.. its quite amazing to have a little girl on the way... the closet is full of pink and for the first time, my husband doesnt care! hehe... also, making its way to my home is a custom made wipes case to match our decor theme or brown and pink and our diaper bag with "Olivia Rose" embroidered on it as well as a custom made blanket and a pair of ugg type boots and a fleece/cotton hat for the cold winter months.. yep, we are ready for the arrival of our baby girl! COME ON NOVEMBER!

update...

I am almost at 28 weeks of my pregnancy, and time is most certainly flying by! only 12 weeks (maybe even 10!!) from holding my baby girl!

I failed my 3 hour glucose tolerance test and was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.. it's not a walk in the park but i am managing! I take my blood sugar daily and try to stick to healthy meals and fruits.. (i have a cheat day once in a while where i'll have some fries! and its amazing!) but other than that i am being pretty diligent about it...

We had our 3D/4D ultrasound at 25 weeks. Baby girl is looking beautiful... she is smiling and sleeping and poking and prodding and I am so completely in love with her! I hope these next few months fly by so i can hold her and kiss those chubby cheeks!!!

My baby shower is 2 weeks away, on September 11th, to be exact and i am getting anxious! Still lots to do.. Need to by center pieces and some more decorations as well as party favors for my guests... Arthur and I will get balloons day of and just bring them to the venue.. I AM SO EXCITED.... so many people have already bought us presents for Olivia, its amazing.. our storage space is diminishing but that is ay ok with me! I even made friends with my UPS delivery guy because he seems to have a delivery for me almost every day! LOVE IT!

There are still several necessities that we need to get like the crib, changing table, mattress and glider but i am keeping my fingers crossed that someone will purchase those for us! It's ok if they don't i just need to get a move on things... I need everything set up by middle/end of october so i can enjoy my last weeks of pregnancy...

Speaking of pregnancy... life's getting a little more difficult.. i could barely bend down, let alone see over my toes.. hehe.. my belly gets in the way of things and i even do not cook as often as i should since belly is in the way. Its difficult to sleep as well.. When i need to change positions and sides, i have to wake up and do so because the round ligament pain plus the weight of the belly makes it painful and difficult to maneuver... I feel like im 80 with all the kinks and pains and aches... but its just the awesomeness of pregnancy!  (is it still weird that i think its surreal that i am PREGNANT!!?!?!?!??!!!!)

Come on NOVEMBER!! GET HERE ALREADY!!!

26 weeks 4 days preggo!

Glucose Tolerence Test... = FML!

Last week i had to take the one hour glucose tolerence test. The drink was fairly tolerable.. It was 50 grams of pure sugar and tasted like very sweet flat orange soda. I think the fact that it was cold made it a little better. Well anyway, i was able to keep that down and had my blood draw and hour later. Results came back monday and my sugar levels were high! norm was 140 i was at 197... eek!

that being said, i had to subject myself to a little more torture that is known as the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. I went in today and had to drink a very warm, lemon lime flavored 100 gram bottle of this crap! i kept it down for an hour and threw the rest up! that was by far the worst, most grossest thing i've ever experienced.

I am ofcourse nervous to hear the results as i really do not wish to have Gestational Diabetes and keep a strict diet but i know i'll have to for the health of my baby girl!  i really hope i never have to do this crappy test again today marked the single worst day of my pregnancy!

on a happier note, i did manage to get a sympathy ultrasound out of them just so i can see my baby girl for putting up with the hell for 4 hours! well she looks absolutely perfect... Measuring right on schedule at 24 weeks.. weighing 1 lb 5oz.. hehe... she is head down and we figured out that all those kicks and flicks ive been feeling have been her legs and feet jabbing me! i am so in love with her already!

I have a 3D/4D ultrasound booked for this weekend as a birthday present from my dear husband so hopefully we get to see some awesome pictures of my baby! cheeks and all!! i am so excited!!!

Buddha Belly :)

22 weeks and 4 days pregnant today! the beginning of the last month of my second trimester! holy cow! where has the time gone? I love being pregnant, and it seems like this pregnancy has just flown by! In a way, its great because i cannot wait until it is November and i can hold my daughter, but then again, i have waited for this for months and months and it is just too fast!

on a side note.. my belly has gotten pretty big and i totally and completely love it! also, i had an impromptu ultrasound 1 1/2 weeks ago, as a favor for a friend who needed a guinea pig to do an ultrasound on and i got a few awesome pictures out of that... My little munchkin weighed in at 15 oz and at 21 weeks was measuring at 20 weeks. it seems like i might have a little pudgey on my hands ;) and that is ay ok!

i have another appointment scheduled for the 28th of July, next Thursday, which is the day before my 25th birthday! (yikes!) i hope i can see my baby again!

22 weeks 3 days! BUDDHA BELLY!!

made for me by a friend...

top picture, she is looking right at you! see her cheeks?

ruling with an iron fist already! <3

20 week update!

so this is it... i made it to the halfway point in my pregnancy! *shrieks* i am so thrilled that im only several months away from holding my daughter!!

todays appointment was awesome.. the ultrasound tech spent about 40-45 minutes with us. she checked every inch of my baby. Spine, bladder, kidneys, heart, brain, toes, fingers, nose, lips, ears, eyes etc... everything is exactly where it should be... my daughter was doing all sorts of maneuvers, first she was upside down, then transverse,  then backwards and all sorts of ways... quite awesome to see her shuffling around in there. shes about 11 oz and measures 18cm crown to rump, so from head to toe, about 25/26 cm. big baby! :) i am so excited and so in love with her!

sucking thumb!

toesies!!!!
